Rock Cauldron Cabaret is not a movie replica or cosplay. It's a fully realized jukebox musicalthat channels witchy energy, theatrical storytelling, and authentic performance artistry.
Rock Cauldron Cabaret began in 2017 as an ambitious creative vision: transform the theatrical charisma of the Sanderson Sisters into a full-scale cabaret experience. Jennica McCleary, who has spent a decade performing as Winifred Sanderson, set out to build something that honored the beloved Hocus Pocus characters while creating something entirely original on stage and for private events.
The show launched in fall 2018, which was a deliberate choice that proved Jennica's commitment to her craft. She premiered Rock Cauldron Cabaret while navigating a breast cancer diagnosis, refusing to back down from what she'd spent a year creating. That resilience set the tone for everything that followed: a production built on artistry, inclusivity, and unwavering dedication to live performance.
How our show has evolved
What started as a single cabaret concept has evolved into a diverse offering for live events. Over eight years, Rock Cauldron Cabaret has built an inclusive and diverse cast and production team, developed multiple performance formats, and has connected with millions of fans on TikTok.
The show features a carefully curated setlist of cover music licensed through BMI and ASCAP, thoughtful parodies, and songs directly from the Hocus Pocus films—including "I Put A Spell On You," "Witchcraft," and "The Witches Are Back."
From an actor’s passion to a full-blown theatrical production
Jennica brings serious credentials to her work as a performer and producer. As a proud member of Actors Equity (the professional union for theater performers), she spent 15 years as a Bette Midler tribute artist before channeling that performance experience into the Sanderson Sisters universe.
In 2015 and 2016, she performed as "Friends with Winifred" ;) at the Magic Kingdom, earning the distinction of being the first woman since Bette Midler herself to be tapped by The Disney Corporation to play Winifred Sanderson.
Beyond Rock Cauldron Cabaret, Jennica has worked with Freeform on Halloween Road (2020), appeared in The Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash (now streaming on Disney Plus), and is featured in "An Oral History of Hocus Pocus" by Shannon Carlin, Disney Publishing. These connections reflect her deep understanding of the source material and her respect for the craft of bringing iconic characters to life.
